The Challenge

On-Page & Off-Page SEO

Axcet HR came to Rank Fuse in June 2023, seeking solutions for multiple SEO issues.

Various technical SEO elements needed to be addressed on the site, including poor user experience, indexing issues, and site speed. Troubleshooting these problems first was pivotal for making the site faster, more user-friendly, and more effective for gaining new business.

Second, Axcet HR was looking for a strategic off-page SEO plan to boost organic rankings. To provide the most value, we wanted to target bottom-of-the-funnel keywords that would produce the highest-quality leads. The biggest challenge here was finding reputable websites that fit Axcet HR’s niche audience: small businesses needing external HR resources, specifically in the Kansas City metro.

The Solution

Phase 1: Technical SEO

Our approach to technical SEO for Axcet HR has been an ongoing process. We’ve worked closely with Axcet HR’s Marketing Director, Beth Foulk, to understand the impact of poor site speed, indexed vs. non-indexed pages, and more. Our ongoing collaboration with Axcet HR has saved the company countless hours of troubleshooting and has resulted in a large decrease in technical site issues.

Phase 2: Off-Page SEO & Backlinking

Originally, our biggest concern was increasing rankings on the high-value keywords that mean the most for new business prospects for Axcet HR. Our process began by reaching out to our off-page SEO partners to identify websites relevant to Axcet HR’s offerings and audience.

Once we identified relevant websites, our team selected keywords that hold the most promise for Axcet HR in attracting new clients. These keywords were core terms containing PEO-related phrasing specific to their location. By prioritizing these keywords, we significantly improved rankings, with 331 keywords reaching the top 3 spots in Google Search Results Pages in January 2025, compared to 86 to November 2023.

Our ongoing backlinking strategy not only increased organic rankings, but Axcet HR’s domain authority grew by 33%.
